Rachel Meacock

Rachel specialises in evaluating changes to the financing and organisation of health care, with a focus on adapting cost-effectiveness methods for large-scale programme evaluations. She has significant experience conducting high-profile evaluations of NHS initiatives, including seven-day hospital services and pay-for-performance schemes.
Rachel is the elected head of the UK Health Economics Association (HESG), a role she shares with Prof Nils Gutacker, and previously served as the first Chair of the EuHEA Early Career Committee (2017–2020). She provides national leadership in economics across NIHR Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) and is a member of the NIHR PGfAR Stage 2 funding committee. Rachel is Principal Investigator on a three-year NIHR HS&DR project on adult community health services and Co-Principal Investigator of ROSENET, a national evaluation team for key UK health and care policies.
