Marcello Antonini

Marcello Marcello is a Research Fellow in Health Economics at the Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research, working within the Health, Organisation, Policy and Economics (HOPE) research group and the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Systems and Commissioning (PRU HSSC). He is also a visiting fellow in the Health Policy Department at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
His research interests focus on healthcare systems financing and cost-sharing designs, behaviours and preferences, and the political economy of health and healthcare. Marcello is the Chief Investigator of the VaxPref project, a global initiative conducted across 22 countries and 14 Universities to explore preferences for vaccination campaigns and attitudes toward vaccination.
He served as the Executive Guest Editor for the Special Issue ‘Global Health Policies and Vaccination Strategies in The Endemic Phase,’ launched by Health Policy and Technology. Prior to his Ph.D., Marcello worked in the economic Health Reforms advisory team for the Chilean Ministry of Health.
