Luke Munford

Luke is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at the University of Manchester. He investigates the causes and consequences of health, with a particular focus on factors contributing to health inequalities—unfair and avoidable differences in health outcomes. His research explores the social and economic consequences of health inequalities, often examining ‘non-health care’ factors such as education, employment, wages, social policy, transport, and social connections. Luke examines how these factors influence health and how health, in turn, impacts them. He holds a PhD in Economics, an MSc in Economics and Health Economics, and a BSc in Economics and Mathematics, all from the University of Sheffield.
