HOPE Research

Kath is a Professor of Health Policy and Primary Care at the University of Manchester and a practising GP. Her research focuses on the organisation and delivery of health care, with particular expertise in NHS policy, commissioning, and the interface between policy and practice. She leads the Health Policy, Politics and Organisation (HOPE) research group and works closely with policymakers to ensure her research informs practice.

Kath has led numerous major studies, including evaluations of the Health and Social Care Act, Clinical Commissioning Groups, and Primary Care Networks. Her work combines qualitative and mixed-method approaches to explore the practical implications of health reforms and support evidence-based policy development.
