Eliana Chavarría Pino

Eliana is a PhD candidate in Health Economics at the University of Manchester, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) through the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership. Her research centres on evaluating the impact of health policies in low- and middle-income countries.

Prior to her PhD, which began in 2021, Eliana gained extensive experience working with UNAIDS Brazil, Grameen Foundation’s Monitoring and Evaluation team, and as a research assistant and consultant for academic and non-profit organisations. Her expertise extends beyond health economics to include evaluations of development economics, public health, and gender programmes.
