Christine Camacho

Christine Camacho is a PhD fellow at the University of Manchester’s NIHR Greater Manchester Applied Research Collaboration (GM-ARC), focusing on public health and community resilience. She began her NHS career in 2004, working in mental health before transitioning to NHS management, where she gained experience in operational, research, project, and program management. In 2015, she joined the public health training scheme, working in local authorities and health protection. In 2020, she commenced her PhD, concentrating on measuring community resilience.
Christine has contributed to research on community resilience, including adapting the Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC) Framework for England. She has also co-authored articles examining ‘Deaths of Despair’ in England and the allocation of the Community Renewal Fund in the context of the UK’s ‘Levelling Up’ agenda.
